(Toronto, ON – January 14, 2022) On behalf of the Chiefs of Ontario, we offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Tom Bressette, former Chief of Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation and Ontario Regional Chief.

“I am saddened to hear of Tom Bressette’s passing,” said Ontario Regional Chief Glen Hare. “Serving as long-time former Chief of Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation and Ontario Regional Chief from June 1997 to June 2000, Tom was dedicated to working for the betterment and prosperity of First Nation communities and future generations.”

“On behalf of the Chiefs in Ontario, we thank Tom for his advocacy and his tireless work to ensure First Nations inherent and Treaty rights were protected, respected and implemented. Our hearts go out to the community of Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point and the family of Tom,” said Regional Chief Hare. “We wish him well on his sacred journey to the spirit world.”
