(December 6, 2022 – Ottawa, Ontario) On December 7, 2022, during the Assembly of First Nations Special Chiefs Assembly, First Nations Leadership will gather to call for the repeal of Bill 23: More Homes Built Faster Act, 2022, and discuss the legislation’s impact on First Nations in Ontario.

On November 17, 2022, First Nations Leadership passed Resolution 22/42S, opposing Bill 23 in its entirety due to its clear violation of First Nations’ constitutionally protected, inherent and Treaty rights and its inevitable adverse environmental impacts on First Nations customary and ancestral territories.
