The Chiefs of Ontario Justice Sector is providing the following posting for information purposes only.
The Justices of the Peace Appointments Advisory Committee (JPAAC) is calling for applications for current Justice of the Peace vacancies in Ontario. A Justice of the Peace is an independent judicial officer who presides in court over various proceedings under federal and provincial statutes.
They are currently seven Indigenous serving vacancies. One each in Toronto, Ottawa, Owen Sound, Sioux Lookout, and Dryden, and two in St. Catharine’s. Candidates that are Indigenous and/or people with an in-depth understanding of Indigenous languages, history, law, and communities and the issues affecting those communities are encouraged to apply.
Applicants are being accepted until Wednesday, July 31st, 2024 by 11:59 EST.
