The OFNYPC are actively involved in Special Chiefs Assemblies and All Ontario Chiefs Conferences, ensuring the youth voice is heard, and encouraging youth inclusion and engagement. They serve as co-chairs, facilitators, mentors and moderators on issues impacting youth at the regional meetings.
The Assembly of First Nations National Youth Council (AFN NYC), along with the hosts in Treaty #6 Territory, Montreal Cree Lake Nation (MCLN) and the Federation of Saskatchewan Indians (FSIN) are pleased to be delivering the 4th National Youth Summit entitled, Youth Leadership - Supporting the Way Forward" November 18-21, 2013 in Saskatoon. This Summit aims to engage youth (16-30) in various discussions and workshops focusing on variety of topics including environment, education, health and social, economic development, rights based recognition, justice, grassroots action and culture and languages; with an ultimate goal of informing the next 5 years of the AFN NYC Action Plan.
Entertainment venue includes Adam Jack and the Reckless, DJ Creeasian, Nona Naytowhow and a Tribe Called Red.
